Product Description of ABWheels

ABWheels is a power standing wheelchair which operates like a human crane that uses advance engineering mechanism to elevate its user to reach high objects and a temperature controller with the temperature detecting system that helps to warm/cool the user. All controlled by a track pad system.
The ABWheels consists of parts like:
a) Nylon seats

b) Padded armrest

c) Wheelchair engine

d) Temperature regulator(located on the back and lower back of the seat)

e) Track pad System

f) Head rest

g) Foot rest & base

h) Retractable shin guard

2 Structures and Parts of ABWheels
Overview of ABWheels

The main parts of the ABWheels are made up of the nylon seats, base, armrest, wheels, front bearing and wheelchair engine. The ABWheels is further touchup with the track pad system, temperature regulatory, retractable shin guards for user’s comfort. (As shown in figure 2.1)

2.1 Base
The base of the wheelchair is made out of plastic over chrome metal so as to prevent rusting. The base houses the wheelchair engine, foot rest and the wheels are connected to. The slightly inclined surface of the footrest enables the user to experience a better placing of their foot making them feel more comfortable.

2.2 Seats, head rest and joints
The seats are produced out of PVC nylon for longer lasting. In addition to that, the head rest can be adjusted to suit the users’ height. Besides that, the movable joints on the seats are made up of plastic and carbon steel, keeping the weight as minimum as possible.

2.3 Wheels and ball bearing
Multi terrain durable puncture proof wheels are constructed out of high quality rubber and low density plastic whereas the front ball bearing is manufactured using high carbonated steel coated with rubber. This enables the wheelchair to travel in most of the terrain, e.g. grass, wet floors, carpet, Pergo flooring, road and etc. Puncture proof wheels are almost the same as normal tires but the inner tube consists of a solid material such as foam, plastic or rubber. These tires are essentially flat-free and require less maintenance then the pneumatic rubber tires.

2.4 Engine
The wheelchair engine located on the base functions on rechargeable battery, it is able to power the wheelchair for 12 hours straight in a full charge. Besides navigating the wheelchair around, it also helps in elevating the user to a half standing position. The engine is shielded and covered by an engine shell which makes the wheelchair waterproof.

2.5 Shin guard
On top of that, a retractable shin guard is built in the wheelchair to support and hold on to the user to prevent falling over when the wheel chair is elevated. In order to prevent abrasion on the shin, the device is padded with cushion.

2.6 Track Pad
ABWheels is also designed with its one of a kind controlling system that replaces the old bulky joystick controller. The entire controlling system of the wheelchair is simplify and compact into just a sleek and slender track pad system built on the padded armrest. It doesn’t only control the movement of the wheelchair; it also controls the engine to help elevate the user into a standing position as well as controlling the temperature regulator. For the convenience of the user, the track pad is built on both of the armrest. So, Left-hander or Right-hander will be able to function it normally.

2.7 Temperature regulator
The temperature regulators which are built at the back, lower back and the bottom of the seat are used to change the temperature of the seats according to user’s preference. It is a new technology used to reduce back pain after sitting for a long period of time. It innovative design that replaces the technology of placing hot gel pack into the lumbar cushion.
